(14 July 2022 – Hong Kong) Riding on the success of International MotorXpo Hong Kong (IMXHK) 2021, the Organiser, International Motor Show (HK) Management Limited announces today that IMXHK 2022 will be held from 8-11 December at AsiaWorld-Expo.

IMXHK is by far the largest scale automotive themed event in Hong Kong history, which sets to be a platform to connect the world’s best builders, finest brands, and the most admired designers with modish individuals under the theme “Mobility+”. It is also a platform that connects opportunities for future mobility with potential customers, investors, collectors, partners and different stakeholders of mobility.

Held from 1-5 December last year, IMXHK 2021 was conducted successfully with the participation of over 60 brands and more than 150 vehicles being put under one roof. The event has recorded more than 400 news reports, locally and internationally, achieving a total media value of HK$20M.

With reference to IMXHK 2021, the positioning, components and highlights of IMXHK 2022 will be further enhanced to focus more on car culture, environment, education and motorsports, etc., in hoping to bring visitors a brand-new exhibition experience. It also strives to provide a good opportunity for car brands to meet their potential buyers and to promote their brand image.

Pre-show events

As a pre-show event of IMXHK, “Dream Car 2050” Children Art Competition will be conducted with an objective to promote STEAM education in primary schools of Hong Kong. Winning art pieces will be endorsed by Mr Horacio Pagani, Founder of Pagani Automobili S.p.A., and displayed at the Art Gallery at IMXHK. Details to be announced in mid-September.

Another pre-show event, Miss IMX Contest, will select the most cheerful and energetic girls to be IMXHK Ambassadors. Casting of over 50 applicants has just been completed in early July. Some 30 shortlisted models will meet with the media on 7 October at IMXHK Kickstart Ceremony, and join the Final Contest on 11 December at IMXHK.

IMXHK highlights that cannot be missed

• EV Zone and topical seminar

Following the announcement of the “Hong Kong Roadmap on Popularisation of Electric Vehicles”, which sets out the long-term policy objectives and plans to promote the adoption of electric vehicles and their associated supporting facilities in Hong Kong, IMXHK, as an auto-themed fair of the city, will showcase a designated EV Zone with latest EVs and relevant technology and services, providing visitors easy references of the latest EV developments. A topical seminar will also be held on 8 December to provide insights into this aspect.

• Car culture exchanges

Award-winning classic car collectors will participate at IMXHK with their collections, including industrial and technical drawings of famous car manufacturers, to foster classic car cultural exchanges with Hong Kong local collectors, and to further strengthen the role of IMXHK as a classic car culture exchange platform.

• International motorsports game and fun-filled CARnival

Given the popularity of digital motorsports nowadays, IMXHK, with the support of Hong Kong Automobile Association, will hold an international race to promote e-motorsports to a broader audience and to provide a fun and engaging way for members of the public to learn more about motorsports.

There will also be a lot of fun-filled elements, such as the city’s first-ever remote truck competition, kids EV riding and the virtual display of supercars, which should not be missed for car lovers or non-car lovers.
